Get a broad-spectrum SPF sunscreen.
It might sound odd to put on sunscreen in winter, especially as we’re used to only needing it on hot and sunny days outside. However, as long as the sun is out, there are still UV rays that can dehydrate your skin and cause premature wrinkles. Also, snow and ice can actually reflect up to 80% of the sun’s UV rays! This means that you’ll be getting hit by both the UV rays from the sun, and the UV rays reflected from the ice and snow for almost 1.8 times the amount of UV you’d usually get. So, just take an extra minute to apply sunscreen on your face before your makeup when you go out!
Transition to an oil cleanser.
If you find your skin gets noticeably more dry during winter while using your normal skincare routine, try swapping your foam cleanser for an oil cleanser. Oil cleansers, like our Nanacoco Cleansing Oil, are great because instead of scrubbing or wiping your makeup off, you can gently massage your face while removing impurities. Just rinse it off with lukewarm water, and your skin should be feeling soft and supple without feeling greasy! Cleansing oils are better as they help preserve the natural oils in your face, which helps maintain moisture.
Lower temperature or take shorter showers.
We know we all want to take scorching hot showers to warm ourselves up during winter, but we need to resist the temptation as doing so will make skin extremely dry. It may be hard to give up on your comforting hot showers completely, so to compromise either lower the temperature, or spend less time in the shower. It may seem like something small, but considering how frequently we shower, it all adds up!
Keep yourself and your skin hydrated.
This is something that can be done regardless of what season it is. Make sure you’re drinking ample amounts of water throughout the day to keep you and your skin hydrated. In addition, you can use moisturizers, face masks, and facial mists to help amp up your skin’s hydration! We like to use our Nanacoco HD Perfection Fixing Spray to spritz our faces in the middle of the day to rehydrate our skin without ruining our makeup. Whichever you prefer to use is fine as long as your skin needs the extra hydration!
Carry hand cream wherever you go.
Our last tip is more for the hands than the face, but still just as necessary. These days people are paying attention to washing their hands or using hand sanitizer more frequently than before. It’s important to remember that while it is good to have clean hands, the soaps and sanitizers also remove natural oils and can dry out your hands. This, combined with the winter season can lead to your hands feeling extra dry. So, our simple fix is to just make sure you have hand cream with you when you go out, and keep one at home near the sink!
To ring in the new year, we’re celebrating with 20% OFF ALL SKINCARE NOW for the month of January! We hope everyone is staying safe and warm this winter season!

]]>Shearling
Shearling has always been around here and there, but this fall it’s taking the spotlight! Sometimes fashion doesn’t match utility, but it would be hard to find someone who would deny wanting to wear something so soft, warm, and cozy during a brisk fall season. Even just a shearling collar can add to your outfit!
Fringe
Fringe is back, and it’s fun! We all know you’re going to be spinning and twirling around in it just for fun or to get that modelesque picture! It can be intimidating to try, but you don’t need to commit a whole piece of your outfit to be fringe. Just try a fringed hemline, or even simpler, some earrings or a bag!
Capes
Capes, ponchos, and oversized scarves, take your pick! Make your entrance a statement and onlookers astonished at your look as your cape elegantly glides along behind you. But don’t worry, capes aren’t just for formal attire, you can wear them casually as well (plus, they’re pretty roomy and comfortable too!) As a bonus, add a belt around the waist if you want to add some shape.
Patchwork
Patchwork is reminiscent of a quilt blanket, but instead of just keeping it at home, you can wear it out! It allows for unique patterns and shapes to be created in just one piece of clothing. Patchwork clothes are definitely statement pieces to add to your wardrobe that can make your outfits pop!
Equestrian
Equestrian, aka horse rider fashion, is riding into fall (sorry, we had to)! With the foundation being dark neutral colors, it’s no wonder that equestrian fashion fits the bill. Not only that, but the riding boots combined with slim pants and a nice fitted jacket or coat ensure you’re going to stay warm while adding a sense of sophistication.
Start small, explore, and don’t be afraid to try something new!

Green/Emerald Eyeshadow
Accentuating your eyes with gorgeous green, emerald, and olive eyeshadow shades is the way to go this fall! These "mermaid green" shades will give your eyes an updated feel to your typical brown and taupe colors.
'Retro' Eyeshadow Quad Palette
'Autumn' Eyeshadow Quad Palette
Light Brows
We are so used to seeing mega, extra fluffy, and/or laminated brows that it may come as a shock that we are bringing back the lighter, less bold, brows. Celebs like Gigi and Bella Hadid, Rita Ora, and Rihanna are embracing more natural brows with a straighter and less arched shape.
Instead of using our pomade to accentuate the brows we will be using our Micro Pencil to lightly pencil in our brows.
Smokey Blues
Sorry, Nanacoco Crew! Whether you love or dislike the blue eyeshadow trend, it is here to stay! This fall 2020, your smokey eye looks will get a bit more colorful. Incorporate a cobalt blue eyeliner to any look to brighten up your night.
Longwear Eye Liner
Hot Pink?!
This may be a first, but incorporating hot pink into your fall fashion and beauty looks is super trendy this fall 2020! Add a pop of pink to your lid or waterline with a more subdued lip and you are good to go!
Use our ultra-pigmented HD Pressed Blush in 'Fuchsia' as an eyeshadow or smudge it into your waterline.
Our blush is able to be sheered out or worn super opaque!
Social Media Eyes
Yes, we are bringing those "instagram baddie" eye looks that our influencers take pictures of to life. Some of the eye trends that are defined as ultra-creative social media looks are:
1) Incorporating glitter or shimmer to your lids
2) Floating white liner
3) Creating silhouettes around the eyes with your fine tip eyeliner
4) Creating a watercolor effect with your eyeshadows
5) Adding jewels around the eyes
Under Shadow
We are all about a smoked out shadow under your waterline! Add your favorite shadow to your bottom lashes and then go big with some extreme falsies to the top lashes for balance.
Super Shiny Gloss
Glossy lips are a staple in the summer, but what if we told you that you can rock super shiny lips even in the fall?! Stars like Chrissy Teigan and Kim Kardashian aren't afraid to push boundaries and transition trends from season to season.
In the early 2000s, a look was not complete without a super glossy lip. Make your pout look extra plump with a great gloss.
'Touch of Fall' Glitzn Gloss
The Tried-and-True Dark Lip
Burgundy, brown nude-ish, and rich red lips are ready to be worn! You know we had to add this trend to our list.
'Autumn Leaves' Lipfinity Lip Creme
'Boss' Magnumatte Lip Crayon
'Tea Time' Liptastic Lipstick
'Guilty' Matte Madness Lipstick
--
As always, makeup is temporary and can be applied however you wish! Feel free to be your most creative this fall 2020!

Start grouping your tasks.
Have you ever thought about why cleaning your room and doing laundry go hand in hand? It seems obvious, but even though they’re two different tasks, they’re associated as you connect clothes with being in your room. This is how grouping your tasks work. It’s something we already do without realizing, so being actively aware of it and using it in different ways can feel unfamiliar. It saves time because you’re able to do multiple things, yet you don’t feel your focus jumping from one end of the spectrum to the other. Start by making a list of everything you need to get done into sub-categories, and then choose tasks that are related either by the items needed or the type of attention it requires. For example, cleaning your desk and taking out the trash can be grouped together as organizational tasks. However, someone else might group taking out the trash with washing dishes as kitchen tasks. This shows just how grouping your tasks feels customizable to your own needs! Just get your groupings and start checking off that list. You got this, Nanacoco Crew!
Pre-stock your main bags with essentials.
Whether they be handbags, totes, or backpacks, we all have more than one bag for different styles and occasions. Queue the flashbacks when you thought you had something in your bag, but you ended up leaving it in another! Here’s how to save that from happening. Just stock your main bags with essentials, and you’ll only have to worry about your wallet and keys before heading out the door! Some essential items we like to add are chapstick, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, travel sized tissues, and our individually wrapped Nanacoco Pro Face Mask! Doing this will also help you save the time and effort of digging furiously through your bag only to realize you didn't have it in the first place. Personalize what you add to tailor in your needs throughout the day.
Organize your wardrobe by color.
When you’re looking for a specific shirt, you’ll definitely remember what color the shirt you’re looking for is. So, instead of trying to rush and scan your whole closet to find that one shirt, you’ll be able to locate that shirt in an instant. Plus, there’s just something so satisfying about seeing a closet organized by color! They can be organized like this pretty easily when they’re hanging in a closet, but you can also do these with drawers as well. Instead of folding your clothes on top of each other and putting them in a stack, you can roll or fold them and lay them across the bottom of the drawer. This way, you can see all the clothes instead of just the ones on the top.
Follow the 2 minute rule.
The rule is, if there’s a task you can do that takes 2 minutes or less (such as responding to an email), do it right then and there. It sounds easy, but think about how many times you had a 2 minute task, but just brushed it aside for later because it seemed like a trivial matter? Don’t worry, we’re guilty of doing that sometimes too! It can take 5 or more minutes to remind yourself and compare it to other things you have going on that day. A few minutes may not sound like a big deal, but consider how many times this 2 minute task comes up and stays in the back of your head throughout the day. Save your brain from that constant turmoil, and clear that task!
You got this, Nanacoco Crew!

]]>Often, we get caught up in handling what’s only in front of us, that sometimes we need to take a step back and recharge by relieving some of that stress. So, we’ve compiled 5 things you can do at home to help take a step back from the pandemic pandemonium!
Turn on your favorite music and sing and dance like no one is watching.
Okay, so you might live with family, friends, or even college roommates, but it can still work out! If it comes down to it, you can always go into a room and lock the door so you have your own space to let loose. There is a reason why music is the language of the soul, not only can it overtake the mind and body, but it absorbs the feelings expressed in a song. It doesn’t matter if you can’t hit every note (ha! We surely try), or if your dance moves may be a bit rusty, all that matters is that you’re having fun getting lost in the music! The best part is, there is no wrong way to do this! All you have to do is queue up your playlist, and the rest will come to you naturally!
Try cooking that recipe that you've been thinking about.
Some people might say that cooking is stressful, but the key here is to not focus on cooking for other people but to cook for yourself. If you cook for yourself, you’ll be able to enjoy the whole experience instead of worrying about doing everything perfectly. Let's face it we aren't trying to bring those fancy food commercials to real life! So, don’t worry if your food isn’t Michelin star caliber.
Even making a simple breakfast can feel therapeutic and rewarding, plus we all know the way to a person’s heart is through the stomach! So, feel free to relax, go at your own pace, and maybe even use that spatula that you bought but never used!
Have your own spa time.
There is much needed time for you to relax during your busy day, and feel good while doing it too! It doesn’t have to be super grand, just as long as you’re able to take some time for yourself and relax for even just a little bit! Only have 30 minutes to yourself? Don’t worry, just turn on your favorite TV show and slap on a face mask! (No, not that one!) Pick your favorite sheet mask, wash-off mask, or a peel-off mask like our Glacial Water Hydrating Peel-Off Glow Mask. While your skin is absorbing the treatment, you can sit back and enjoy your favorite shows! You’ll have some time to appreciate your show, while your skin appreciates you!
Light a scented candle and get an adult coloring book.
It's time to put your phones away and do some good old-fashioned coloring because coloring is not just for kids anymore! Light a candle, sit down someplace comfortable and release your inner child. There's just something serene and peaceful about coloring with a scented candle to ease your senses. Coloring books are widely available on sites like Amazon, or if you don't want to spend money, there are some free printable adult coloring pages online as well!
Call or video chat with a friend.
With FaceTime, Discord, Skype, and a plethora of messaging apps, video chatting is widely available. During this time, it may be hard to meet up with all of your friends, so take some time to call your best pal or group of friends to chat and catch up! Sometimes just spending time with friends is all we need to feel supported, positive and revitalized.
This is just a small list of many things you can do to relieve some stress. You can find whatever works for you and makes you feel good because at the end of the day it's all about YOU!

So, my name is Josie, I am 23 years old and my life is everything beauty, cosmetic and internet related! I am working in the beauty industry and I have so so much passion for my job that even customers say to me "wow, you really love makeup don't you?!" and yes, I ABSOLUTELY DO!! So around 2 - 3 years ago, I found two of my favorite internet sensations on YouTube, Jeffree Star and Tati Westbrook. Their videos really helped me through a very dark stage in my life, Jeffree had the comedy and the exquisite lifestyle, where Tati had the calm tranquility, and together they both had this passion for makeup. I was always told as a child and in my teen years, that makeup was only there to cover insecurities and to make you look fake. So I never dipped into it as I was encouraged away from it, but having watched Jeffree and Tati and see their creations and how passionate they were about it, I had to give it a try. As an artist, I saw this as a new canvas to work on and I was the most excited and I haven't looked back since!
Around a year and a half ago, I was prompted by the closest people around me and the more recent findings at the time of other beauty YouTubers, to give it a shot at having my own YouTube channel, another aspect that I haven't looked back on! I have over 400 subscribers and I absolutely LOVE creating new content every week for my viewers, AND also working my way into the beauty industry in my work, I really have broadened my creativity and have grown so much since finding my true love and passion for all things makeup, beauty, and cosmetics!
would have to be my phone, so that I can keep up to date at all times on the latest and newest posts on Twitter and Instagram and reply to comments on my newest YouTube videos. I can't leave without my Soap and Glory Pillow Plump gloss because, makeup or no makeup, a gloss is a MUST! Also my Cherry lip balm for the days when it's a little colder and I need to keep moisturized. Also my very favorite Lacura, all-natural hand and nail cream, I have to keep my hands nourished, that should have been number 1 really haha! And finally, my sunglasses, though it is not always the most sunny here in the UK, I still believe in protecting the eyes from UV is such a necessity whilst still looking glam!
So having mentioned 2 already, Jeffree Star and Tati Westbrook, they are both so influential to me for their constant drive to better themselves and what they are creating no matter what hits them along the way. Laura Lee would have to be my next favorite, as she is also so unbelievably passionate about what she creates and promotes, she is also such a comedienne in that she never fails to have a laugh in her videos, some influencers to me can be too serious, where Laura is so relaxed and natural in her videos, I really resonate with her vibe! I have to throw Scott Barnes into this mix, and yes even though he is more of an official makeup artist, I still think that what he brings to the table is incredible! The way that he observes each one of his models to ensure that the makeup he does on them is unique to their face shape, skin tone, eye color, hair color heck, the list goes on! I find his knowledge something more than admirable, his work to me is the peak of creation and where any of us passionate artists starting out would want to be! Finally, I have to mention Manny MUA, though I watch the least of him out of the other influencers, I still believe that he has somewhat of a special spark, he is the best at talking the talk! He could sell the worst product to anyone of us and make us love it because of how great he is at speaking about products. Also, his honesty, if he doesn't like something, he wouldn't drag the company or anything malicious, he would just talk about how it could be improved and that is what I love the most, I have learned from him when talking about a product I don't like so much, in one of my videos, not what to say but how to say that it's not good. Learn to explain myself because the viewers aren't sat next to you, so you have to tell as much detail as possible without rambling, it's a great piece of information to have picked up on, as after learning to be like that, from his influence has given me loyal subscribers, ones that trust and listen to me what I talk about any products.
I think my biggest makeup regret would have to be when I first bought foundation, for around the first 3-4 months, I was in denial that I am one of the most pale humans there is! I would buy a foundation that was 2-3 shades darker than my actual skin, so I had the horrific line on my jaw and really looked an absolute mess! But that's where I started and I have learned SO much in the last 2 years and I know I have so much more to learn in the future, and I really can't wait!
What I love the most about makeup is that I get to express exactly who I am with how I present myself. So some days might be different from others and that means I can almost become an entirely different person from Monday to Tuesday! I am a lover of color, all things bright and beautiful right? I love to use my face as a 3D canvas and experiment with color combinations on my eyes with different shadows and pigments. I also love to do detailed face painting for videos to express my skills and passion for creation. Other times, I love to keep it natural, create a subtle highlight, maybe a light 2 toned shadow and a little mascara for the no-makeup makeup days. I think it is the diversity of makeup that I love, from crazy bold dramatic looks to lighter more subtle cute looks, I love it all and love to create any which way in between for myself and for my clients.
In 5 years from now, I would like to be in 1 of 2 places or both if I am lucky! 1 is a fully-fledged makeup artist in a company that I love, maybe a little higher in the rankings so a manager of some description where I have an awesome team alongside me and we could travel the country (or the world, that would be the dream) creating looks with new releases and inspiring new and fresh customers and colleagues. Or 2 would be for my YouTube channel to take off so I could be making more of a difference to more people's lives through my passion for makeup, like Jeffree, Tati, and Laura did for me. If I could be lucky enough to travel with makeup companies as a YouTuber / Beauty Influencer, making changes to peoples lives in the most positive way, I would be the happiest girl on the planet! Like I say, if the potential of both of those possibilities were to come true, then wow, I would have hit the jackpot!
Some makeup hacks that I have learned that I love, would have to be using a beauty blender no matter what! I know this isn't really a hack, more of a preference to which tool I use, but honestly, a damp beauty blender is the one and only way to get a seamless finish to the skin with primer, foundation, concealer AND under eye setting, in my opinion anyway haha! Another would have to be the blending of eyeshadow, especially those with more pigment and color, to use small circular motions to blend and keep on blending until your arm hurts, that's when you know it will be perfect haha! Some smaller hacks that make a difference to my routine would be, using the same inner eye corner highlight as the one on the brow bone as the match of the shades will make everything look more put together, another would be creating an exclamation mark down the center of the nose with the highlight so starting where your eyes line up with the bridge of the nose, bring it down between 1 - 2cm depending on the nose you're working with, stop and do the dot on the very tip of the nose, to give the illusion of a longer, thinner looking nose. And finally, if you have sparse eyebrows... GROW THEM OUT! Literally, I had the worst eyebrows ever from over plucking in school, I let them grow out for around 6 months, re-shaped them and now I finally have brows that look decent compared to how they used to haha!
My skincare routine changes pretty easily as the seasons change, so at the moment with it still being a little cold in the UK, I will change up the products week to week to keep on top of as much as possible so for example in 1 week, I will use a deep exfoliant once in the week, I will use a face wash every other day and I will use a more rich, nourishing cream to moisturize, in another week I will use a clay mask once in the week to draw out unwanted oils in the skin, I will use a very very mild face scrub once in the same week but a few days apart to keep on top of clearing pores, in this week I will also use a nice eye cream and a lighter day and night cream. I make sure to do this to keep all of the balances as equal as they possibly can be in my skin.
In the warmer times of the year, I will probably use the clay mask up to 2 times per week as my skin is a lot more oily in the hotter weather, I would use cooling masks as well to ensure my pores stay smaller to reduce clogged pores whilst wearing makeup in warmer weather as well, this would increase the use of scrubs to make sure my skin stays as clear as possible.
To make sure that I stay on top of the latest beauty trends, I make sure to watch all of my favorite YouTubers to see what new products are coming out if they get sent them in PR and see what they think of them and see if anything new, creative and innovative is being released, I will also keep up to date on Twitter by checking my feed every day and seeing what companies are saying about new releases, also on Instagram to see pictures of new products so I am aware of packaging and to see what sticks out to me to potentially buy for a review on my YouTube channel.
My dream job, after briefing over it earlier, would be to travel the world with the best makeup skills and make differences to other peoples lives, by inspiring them to get creative, whether it is to be a makeup artist, be a model for makeup artists, be a business owner and create products, there is so much diversity and I would love to be a part of changing peoples insights, whether it was traveling as a business manager/makeup artist manager, in a makeup company, or as a beauty influencer and traveling as a YouTuber to support a plethora of makeup and cosmetic companies, and promote them to my supporters to gain influence and make differences to their lives by inspiring them to achieve what their dream might be as well.
I am prepared to use all and any tools to apply makeup, I love to try new and innovative tools to see how they might differ to more well-known ones. As for preferences, I like to use a damp beauty blender (as mentioned earlier) for my face base, sometimes a dry sponge for my setting powder, a big fluffy brush for bronzing, a smaller fluffy brush for highlight, a flat more detail brush for my brows, and a combination of crease brushes, small fluffy brushes, packer brushes, pencil brushes, and others depending on my eye look for eye shadow. Like I say, I am very versatile and open to try anything new on the market.
When it comes to inspiration for my looks on YouTube, I will mostly try to do something that is relevant to the time and what is most popular. Sometimes, I will find other creators of a similar following or less (so to not look like I'm only doing it for more followers, and to support people with a smaller following) on Twitter or YouTube and see if they wanted to do a collaboration, where I will recreate one of their looks in a video and they can recreate one of mine on whatever social media platform they prefer. I like to be in contact with other makeup enthusiasts as it's like making overseas friends, knowing that they have something in common with me, makes me feel like I'm that little bit closer to them straight away, like we could be real friends. I have made a few good friends from doing this already and I love that!
My average day changes depending on whether I am at work or not, so on a workday, I will do a natural glam makeup look, suitable for my job and enough to encourage customers to inquire what I am wearing, etc. I will sell makeup and skincare products to customers at work, maybe if they are wanting a makeover I will sit them down, make them feel comfortable and get to know them a little bit, I will always be casual and chatty with customers, never too formal as I wouldn't want to make them feel uncomfortable or uneasy. I would go ahead with the session whether it was a makeover or a skincare session, advise them on products best suited to them and encourage (never force) a sale. At work, I have targeted each day that I need to try and achieve to gain the counter target for the company. I enjoy doing this as I see it as a challenge for myself to make the sales without forcing people into making them feel like they have to buy something from me. As for my days off work, these can vary depending on where I am up to with my YouTube channel, mostly, my first day off will consist of setting up to film a video, this can take anything from 2 to 6 hours depending what I am creating, I will tidy everything away again and transfer the files from my camera to my laptop. A lot of the time, I will begin to edit that video right after I've filmed, but sometimes I will continue my day to day jobs to run my home with my boyfriend. On other days if I haven't got to film a video, I will be working on editing the footage to upload for my YouTube channel, this can take anything between 4 to 10+ hours again depending on the content. So my general days vary between these 3 possibilities haha, I also run my home like I say in-between times.
It's funny you ask that question, to be honest, if we're talking clothing, I only really wear black, grey or white anyways, so it would probably be grey for clothing as I like to keep it neutral and not to stand out with clothing, for color in makeup, I would probably wear oranges as this color complements my eye color the best in my opinion as they are blue, I feel it makes the blue color more vibrant.
My gosh.... too many, way over 100 different products, so much so I can't actually remember them all... Is that really bad? Haha, nevertheless, I love makeup so much, that is the proof!
Bold or neutral lip? Defo a neutral lip because I'm nearly always bolder on the eye.
Brow pencil or pomade? Ummm... Probably pomade, even though I don't use either a pencil or pomade as my preference, pomade is the closest in terms of how it's applied, to brow powder, which is my personal preference.
Micellar water or makeup wipes? Absolutely micellar water! I don't like to use makeup wipes as they mostly have plastic in them, so I will use a soft reusable/washable cloth with micellar water to prevent the waste of plastic in the wipes.
Liquid or powder foundation? Liquid foundation for sure, for my skin type, I get a much nicer finish and using it with a beauty blender as mentioned earlier is much better for me.
Shimmery or matte eyeshadow? It depends on the day... normally both haha but I think a matte shadow look is super subtle and sleek looking especially with my preferred satin finish winged liner, so yeah matte.

I started really getting into makeup because it was like my relief from life. I loved how when I would sit down to do my makeup it would make me feel as if nothing negative could possibly happen. It brings me so much joy and it allows me to express myself any and every kind of way I want. It allows me to have a free canvas at my disposal. I was always told that I could never get into makeup because I was an athlete.
Running. I run track and cross country I get so much joy when I get on the track.
Do YOU! If you want to wear eyeshadow wear! If you want to wear lipstick wear it! Never let anyone's thoughts or opinions stop you from what you love and are passionate about.
My biggest regret would be shadowing and lessening my craft in the beginning of my journey because of society. I remember when I first started wearing makeup. I was so scared to go out an buy foundation so I would just wear my friends which was the WRONG shade, a big hat, and shades haha. It was hard getting accepted as a black gay male athlete who wears a full face of makeup and because of that I simplified and suppressed my craft a lot until I finally hit the point in my life where I decided to live for me and not care or pay attention to the negativity.
I would change the division for good. Big brands and big influencers show love to each other but there is still a HUGE separation in the community. From the male MUAs to the female MUAs, From the African American to the Caucasian, to the Hispanics. There is still a division.
I honestly would have to say it's about knowing your angles and your lighting. I feel as now matter how good the makeup is if you don’t have good lighting and know your angels then you are just hurting yourself more than helping
In five years I see myself being the face and spokes person for a brand but not living in Atlanta or L.A but based out of Florida with my boyfriend with two dogs in a very comfortable and cute home
One of the biggest hacks that I have fell in love with and do religiously is mixing my setting powders together.
Honestly to me the best way to stay on top on everything I watch two stores, Ulta and Sephora. Of course, I watch youtube and search on Instagram, but with Ulta and Sephora carrying so many different brands which all announce and advertise upcoming products it's a really easy way to stay on top of everything
I feel like the industry should redo and revamp BB Cream. I have noticed there aren’t many brands with BB Cream of light coverage foundation and the ones that do have them don’t really have a good shade range. I only say this because my best friend, mom, and sister all refer to wear bb creams and it's always hard for them to find one. Even when I worked at Ulta that was a question that came up a lot at work.
Everyone loves followers but having a super huge following isn’t why I started wearing and posting makeup pictures. It would be cute to have a huge following and I work toward that each and every day simply by being and staying true to myself. I show the real me on and off camera so my followers know and see they are apart of my actual life. I engage with everyone and always remain humble to each and every one of them.
I honestly just go out and look at my environment and think about the colors and objects I see and it just molds into a makeup look.
If the night out is with friends then my look would be extreme ha I would have three hair colors in my head starting with dark blue fading into a light blue then into a platinum. My outfit as of now with weather conditions would be a sequin shoes an all-black bodysuit with 3 sliver chains on or a sequins choker with my ysl bag.
I used social media to show that you can be an athlete and wear makeup, to show you don’t have to fit society idea of what a male mum show be. Wearing colorful eyeshadow big lash lip gloss, lipstick, anything you want. My brand is a welcoming and accepting brand and that's what I work to show people each and every time I promote myself. I want them to see that. I show that through my lives, videos, responding back to comments, the whole nine yards
This or that:
Natural lashes or false lashes? Falsies all the WAY!! I love a good lash. I do live see a good natural lash coated with mascara but I don’t have very good bottom lashes and my top lashes are so curls
Trying new products or sticking with your tried and trues? I would have to say try new things I love having a new product under my belt because each product comes with more knowledge. my tried and trues became that simply from me branching out and trying them
Full glam or natural makeup? Full Glam
Liquid or powder foundation? oh most definitely liquid only because I had really dry skin when I first started doing makeup so me using powder was a killer.
Lipstick or lip gloss? I love lipstick but my lips peel so much so I rock with lip gloss but if my lips didn’t peel so much I would stunt with lipstick

I basically grew up in a salon as my favorite Aunt was a hairdresser for 30 plus years. I always loved watching her work and how happy she made everyone. I decided after I graduated high school a traditional college wasn’t for me, and attended cosmetology school in 2006. I was a natural and found my confidence levels rise as a beautician. Unfortunately I gave up that dream after the recession hit and people just didn’t have the money for hair and makeup services anymore. I found my passion again making Youtube videos and I hope to reach as many people as possible.
I am truly an animal lover at heart and advocating for them has become a hobby. My love for animals surpasses my own cats and dogs, I want to help every animal find a loving compassionate home to grow old in.
Purse, phone, wallet, sunglasses, lip gloss
My skin is very dry so I try to avoid anything that has alcohol. I am also moving toward vegan products to protect animals and to advocate for change in all industries.
Be ready to work and really love what you do. Clients never just drop into your lap. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. You have to prove yourself and that takes time. Also, don’t be so hard on yourself if something doesn’t turn out perfect. We all start from somewhere and have to grow and learn along the way.
If I could give any advice it would be…don’t touch your eyebrows! They are meant to be trimmed and not shaved, waxed, or naired! Lol. Don’t follow trends with something as permanent as your brows. I ended up with skinny over-plucked arches that would serve a fast food chain better than my face, and as we transitioned out of the 90’s I regretted that more than any other beauty trend out there.
Angles, angles, angles..and good lighting of course. We all have a good side and don’t be afraid to flaunt it! Take as many as you need to find the perfect one. I do this a lot when I am trying to capture the perfect thumbnail pic. I also feel like the best selfies are the ones you’re having fun and being natural in. My husband takes amazing candid photos when no one is looking. We are truly at our most beautiful when happy and natural.
Hopefully as an independent beauty Youtuber and entrepreneur if my own line of beauty products.
Tightlining and eyelash lifts have helped me so much with my morning routines. I no longer struggle with my eyeliner early in the morning. I love that it gives my eyes definition without taking up excess lid space. Just like the tighlining hack, eyelash lifts have taken the beauty world by storm! And I know why. It takes my ordinarily straight as a pancake eyelashes and gives them life and much needed volume. I have all but retired my eyelash curler thankfully.
During the day I use a hydrating serum and a moisturizer to set the serum and lock in the hydration for under my primer. In the evening I use my tried and true Equate make-up wipes (I get from Wal-Mart) to take off my makeup. They don’t dry me out or leave a residue. During the cold winter months I add weekly masks and eye cream to my regimen.
Social Media and Commercials mainly. I also do google searches for new launches as well.
To be able to create and make enough money to support my family and to help as many people feel beautiful inside and out as possible.
Not using the correct foundation base color, too much blush/highlighter, and not lining the eyelids all the way to the lash line. (A huge pet peeve of mine!)
Up @ 6:30AM, shower, hair and makeup, off to work for 9 hours, drive home, film and research social media to see what’s trending, and then off to bed!
Black. Hands Down.
Natural Lashes or False Lashes? Natural
Trying new products or sticking with your tried and trues? Always want to try new things and combine with my favs!
Full glam or light and natural makeup? Light and Natural Makeup
Liquid or Powder Foundation? Liquid! All the Way
Matte or Glossy Lip? Glossy

My name is Michel'le Green also known as Michel'le Sade' on social media my middle name is Sade' lol I am 26 years old turning 27 next month I am from Louisiana and reside in Indiana... Aside from makeup, I am a student a computer science major. About two years ago is when I came across some makeup tutorials on youtube and actually started to feel interested in learning makeup. At the time I was dealing with some confidence issues and looking for something to help me cope and makeup became a thing. I don't need makeup to be pretty but it helps me focus on something more positive and I love it. I started off with a lot of drugstore makeup and just started playing around with makeup even though I wasn't really good lol. But now I truly found my self invested in perfecting my craft and I love it so much.
I am starting to be passionate about fashion and dressing up. I also feel passionate about my degree I'm pursuing which is computer science and becoming a big software developer.
My top 5 are Naezrah Nikole, Alissa Ashley, Makeuptiffanyj, A lot of UK artists lol it's hard to pick, and taylorgrhammua the list goes on this was hard to pick lol.
Lord!!!! the biggest regret is simply looking back at a lot of my old makeup pics and realizing I really used to think I was cute!!! and furthermore people letting me go out looking a hot mess lol. Like shadows weren't blended at all. Just a horror!!
What do you love most about makeup?
What I love is creativity... It's like you never can get bored because it's so much with makeup! You are constantly learning new techniques and learning new looks! You're never tired.
What are your tips and tricks to getting that perfect selfie?
ITS ALLL ABOUT THE LIGHTING!! Get in front of really good ring light or some sunlight and boom! I also feel the best selfie comes from a good camera. You don't need to spend a lot of money on a camera but it's important to have a really good cell phone and/or camera. Lastly know your angles! It's okay to take 100 photos and pick three from the bunch just practice different angles!
What are some makeup hacks that have really worked for you?
The most recent makeup hack I saw came from TikTok actually. It was the Moisturizer then loose powder then setting spray then primer and foundation and omg it made my foundation look amazing!!
I am on social media constantly to see whats new what new palettes new trends and everything so i can be on top of things!
My dream job is to be a big YouTuber and make it big in the beauty industry and collab with a big brand and also become successful with my computer science degree
The number one I see is eyebrow mistakes. they are either too long too thick or too dark! the second one is foundation matching. granted sometimes you wouldn't even tell at the end of doing everything it looks amazing but sometimes you can tell. and the last one is the flash back! It seems like sometimes the under eye be too bright and crazy some people actually like it but I don't think t looks great. oh and lastly again lol.. cakey looking makeup.
What types of makeup tools do you use for the application?
Currently, I use all morphe brushes... I purchased the James Charles Morphe Brush Set.
I get inspired by other makeup artists to be honest. When I have creators block, I go to Instagram and see other looks and feel inspired again.
Perfect night out looks for me is a total beat face and odd enough I never wear eyeshadow when I'm going out, but I want to start. But its normally my everyday makeup with bomb lashes and bomb lip just snatched face. Outfit normally if its cold, I have my black turtle neck ready with high waisted jeans a bomb jacket and boots or heels. I'm working on more confidence so i started buying dresses and on the hot days You can see me in a black body dress with heels and possibly a jacket it really depends on where I'm going.
Honestly I don't own much makeuo if you compare it to other people! For instance, i have 6 foundations lol some people have as much as 30 lol I have maybe 10 to 15 makeup palettes lol but i will be getting more.
I focus on being consistent and always post quality content and promote myself in the description. I learn not to compare myself to others and focus on my own time and just continue to post great content.
This or that:
Natural lashes or false lashes? False lashes i have NO natural lashes lol and when it comes to false lashes i need dramatics.
Cream or pressed blush? Pressed blush!
Neutral or colorful looks? Both but i doubt i would ever wear my colorful looks out
Liquid or powder foundation? Both cause i use pressed powder for setting my liquid foundation
Lipstick or lip gloss? BOTH!!

]]>Although the flat lay pictured above contains a very busy background, your focus is still on the products due to the contrast in colors. This is an example of how you can use a busy background and still highlight your products.
Bring on the drama with these "claws", as some would say. Yes, this isn't the most convenient trend when it comes to your day to day activities.....especially if you're used to short nails. Stiletto nails are great for those with shorter and wider fingers because it gives the illusions of your fingers being slimmer and longer. We also love how long this style is because you have more room to create a fun and artistic look.
If super long and dramatic stiletto nails aren't your cup of tea, opt for a short to medium rounded nail. A round nail is great if you have short, yet slim fingers. The rounded tip will help to elongate your fingers, while giving off an elegant and professional look.
Well, the classic french manicure is back! This minimalist nail trend is one that tends to come and go, but is never gone for good. We love a basic french manicure because it's sure to look elegant, yet simplistic, while matching any outfit. If you want to put a fresh twist on this trend, opt for a colored tip instead of the basic white.
We are currently loving this fresh take on a bare nail. Start off with a clear or nude polish, then overlay some fun designs over top. Whether you design shapes, lines, or make it a little abstract, we are totally here for this trend.
Here are three of our favorite budget friendly sets to use for nail art:
10PCS Dotting Tools Set for Nail Art, Embossing Stylus for Painting
Yimart 20PCS Nail Art Design Dotting Painting Drawing Polish Brush Pen Tools
Gone are the days of painting all of your nails the exact same solid color. Accent nails have been popular for quite a bit now, and heading into spring and summer, you'll still be seeing this trend everywhere. We love pairing our vegan and cruelty-free Nail Lacquer with the Insta Gel Nail Strips for a quick and fool proof accent nail.
Whether it's a red lip or a fresh red manicure, this is a sexy and timeless color. If you want to take it up another level, pair a red lip with a red mani for a real wow factor.
Our three favorite red nail lacquers for 2020:
"Paradise Island" gives a tropical vacay vibe to the classic red manicure.
"Best Summer Ever" is more of a true red. If you are a fan of the "normal" and iconic red manicure, then this is definitely the polish for you.
If you are more into a darker polish, but still love a red mani, opt for a shade like "Rising Star".
Year after year, animal print stands its ground. Honestly, we don't see this trend ever going out of style. Get the look with the Leopard Insta Gel Nail Strips. Lasting up to 14 days, these waterproof nail stickers will have your nails looking fresh and trendy in under 15 minutes.
As much as we all love a bright and bold pop of color, it's time to tone it down a bit and bring back the soft neutrals. This barely there look can be achieved easily with a soft pink or nude polish. Get the look with the shade "Sweet as a Peach" Nanacoco Professional Nail Lacquer.

Bronzed Eyelids Instead of Smoky?
Say goodbye to taupe, rich brown, and purple bridal tones and trade them in for a beautiful bronzed lid. Our Eyeshadow Quad Palette in Elegant has the perfect mix of bronze, gold, and rose gold shades, giving you a glowing neutral look.
Tinted Lips
Trade-in your matte liquid lipstick for a lip tint, like our Tintalizing Lip Tint in the shades 'For Fame' or 'Sorbet', and gently dab the formula on the lips. Lip tints are a goof-proof product to add a simple touch of color to the lips without having too heavy of a lip!
Whether you are a full glam or minimalist bride, the Nanacoco Team wishes you many years of love and happiness! With makeup, there are no rules! xo

Tell us a little about yourself and your accomplishments.
I'm an Actress and Singer-Songwriter and I've started working since I was around 10 years old doing commercials, tv, and film. I worked on many small roles and projects and at 13 discovered Youtube. I started posting covers to express my passion for music and performing and was lucky to find a platform that allowed me to reach audiences around the world. I then moved to Korea at 15 and got signed to a record label and had a short time as a Kpop star releasing some music. Since then I've written music for GG's Taeyeon and Exo's Baekhyun and others. Many also might know me as the lead of Nickelodeon's "Make it Pop" series. I continue to make content on social media like Instagram, Youtube, Twitch and now Tik Tok!
Who are your biggest female role models and why (can be someone in your personal life, celebrity, etc.)?
My mom is definitely my biggest role model. She has always taught me to love and be myself and all throughout my life and career she was there and supportive of me.
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to not be so polite and nice to the point that I would sacrifice and hide what I truly want. As Asian Americans and also as females we were brought up and taught to suppress our feelings and to always be "good". I'm very proud of my morals and values that I have been taught and believe in however I feel like a part of me that is an outlier shouldn't be afraid to show more of that side of me and come out stronger.
If you are ever in a slump, how do you bring yourself out of it?
Finding hobbies that have nothing to do with my work are very important to me as well as spending time with friends and family. These days I'm into cooking so I find joy through that it helps me feel fulfilled even during my slumps.
How does social media affect your mental health?
Oh, I definitely have a love and hate relationship with social media. It stresses me out. I'm alive in the moment type of person and sometimes, having to constantly worry about what post I have to make next and remembering to take pictures and worrying constantly about "staying relevant" takes a toll on a person who's career basically revolves around social media. We are all affected by it, comparing each other's life/career highlights and always putting a "front". It's definitely not easy but I take a detox from it once in a while and also remind myself to not take it so seriously. Because at the end of the day, if we didn't have the internet we are left with reality and the truth of who we are.
Given your previous answer, what is one thing that you would change about today's social media in general and why?
I would take out numbers completely. We are already constantly judged by our numbers since we were kids in school and as adults with social media. I think it would take so much pressure off of everyone if we were to take out publicizing numbers on social media (Instagram already starts with likes for some accounts but we definitely need more change).
Why do you think it’s important for women to support each other and lift each other up in day-to-day interactions and on social media?
We can definitely get lost in our thoughts and unintentionally start comparing and think negatively about ourselves because our lives are so different from each other. I think women having positive interactions on social media are just as important as in-person interactions because it is a good reminder that you are not alone and at the end of the day we all just want to be loved and supported. Spread more love and encouragement NOT HATE.
What are your short-term and long-term goals for your personal life, career, etc.?
I would love to start building a merch/fashion line that really represents my mixed aesthetic, release new music this year and possibly work on a big film/tv project again soon!
Name one Nanacoco product that makes you feel more empowered, confident, and beautiful.

Tell us a little about yourself and your accomplishments.
My name is Tiffany also known as @taffymariex on Instagram. I’m 26 years old a mother of two. My accomplishments include starting my own business! Tiffany is a self-taught professional makeup artist and has 30.3K Instagram followers.
Who are your biggest female role models and why (can be someone in your personal life, celebrity, etc.)?
My mother is one of my biggest role models and that’s because growing up we didn’t have a father there and she did her best to take care of 3 girls by herself! She was working two jobs, making sure we had what we needed for school. She took us on trips and showed us we didn’t need a man. She showed us what independent women look like.
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice what would it be?
To stay away from the streets; it wasn’t worth getting into trouble all the time! But I learned my lesson and I’m proud of the women I am now.
If you are ever in a slump, how do you bring yourself out of it?
I tell myself, God got me & I try to watch YouTube videos to keep myself going. Also, I just look at my kids and they just keep me going to be better for them and myself.
How does social media affect your mental health?
Honestly, the hate on there can break someone. Trying to stand out on social media can affect your mental health.
Given your previous answer, what is one thing that you would change about today's social media in general and why?
Omg, I would change the “fake pages”. Those need to be taking down. Bullying is not right.
What are your short-term and long-term goals for your personal life, career, etc.?
My short-term goal is to work with Nanacoco or to collaborate with a makeup brand! The long term is to be my own boss!
Name one Nanacoco product that makes you feel more empowered, confident, and beautiful

From her in-depth and informative YouTube videos to the wide range of looks she posts daily on her Twitter and Instagram, we have enjoyed watching her grow during 2019 and cannot wait to see what she accomplishes in 2020. Keep reading to learn more about Tara, her goals, opinion on social media, and what her favorite Nanacoco products are.
Tell us a little about yourself and your accomplishments.
My name is Tara Brown, I am a married mom of 3, including twin baby girls, and a seven-year-old boy. In my days in the outside working world, I was a trainer at Bally Total Fitness, and I eventually worked my way up to General Manager, I was actually one of just a few women to hold that position within the company!! Being home with my little bundles of joy now, after working for so many years, I needed something for myself and started my YouTube channel as a creative outlet and a way to educate others. In just 8 months I have grown to roughly 2000 subscribers, 3000 on Twitter, and almost 1000 on Instagram. My greatest accomplishments in life are my 3 little bundles of joy!!
Who are your biggest female role models and why (can be someone in your personal life, celebrity, etc.)?
My biggest female role model has always been my Aunt Diana. She embodies being the "perfect woman" to me. Just seeing or hearing from her makes my day, and it has been that way my entire life. She is such a kind, loving, fun, charismatic and hard-working woman. She is such a good mother and an amazing role model. She worked as an ER nurse for years and recently moved into a management position within the hospital. She lights up any room she is in, and she is someone I strive to be like!!
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice what would it be?
If I could give my younger self some advice I would have told myself to start my journey into the beauty community much sooner, maybe even before I had children!! I would also tell myself to reach for the stars, as cliche as it sounds, take more risks and chances and not be afraid to fail.
If you are ever in a slump, how do you bring yourself out of it?
Sometimes I need a reset, I go through ups and downs just like everyone else. Honestly, a chat with my best friend, an overdue TV date with my husband or a good dance-at-thon with the kids can really turn my mood around, and suddenly I am inspired to create again!
How does social media affect your mental health?
Social media is such a great way to engage with others, get your content out there, interact with your subscribers and discover new brands, products and much more. This side of social media is uplifting, motivating and intriguing and definitely affects my mental health in a positive way! I love seeing everyone's looks they have worked so hard on, and talking with others about how amazing everyone is doing!! There is also another side to social media, the negative side where people leave mean comments or just want to start arguments with someone for no reason. I am very new to social media and it is sometimes a scary place! I try to never get immersed in drama or any negativity, but I sure have come across tons of it scrolling along, and it makes me sad. Can't we all just get along? I also see some competitiveness, which is always good, but sometimes it gets taken to an unhealthy level.
Given your previous answer, what is one thing that you would change about today's social media in general and why?
I wish social media could feel like a safe space where people could just connect with others, without fear of what someone may say to them that is hurtful. I grew up in the '80s and '90s, and in ways, it was such a simpler time!! Your phone was connected to the wall, on a cord!! Not in the palm of your hand 24/7!!
Why do you think it’s important for women to support each other and lift each other up in day-to-day interactions and on social media?
The world can sometimes be a scary place, I think it is important for women to have each others' backs. No matter what your career goals are, or what field you are in, we all have the same goals, to succeed and be happy! Women also understand women, our moods and what we go through in life, certain times of the month we may need a little extra push, and our girls are there to give it!
What are your short-term and long-term goals for your personal life, career, etc.?
My short term goals are to get myself out there more as a "brand". I started my channel as an outlet for myself, and a way to educate others, but once I branched out a bit, it became so much more than that! My long term goals are to collaborate with a brand on products, (or brands, hey why limit myself, right?) be part of campaigns and continue to grow!
Name one Nanacoco product that makes you feel more empowered, confident, and beautiful.
I will have to go with the Glitzn Gloss in the shade "Plumpy". Something about that bright bold red lip is so fierce, and I feel like I can take on anything when I am wearing it!

It takes time and hard work to not only become successful but also to create a brand for yourself and Jenna is no stranger to that. From working a part-time minimum wage job to becoming a well-known public figure, she has worked to continuously move further in her career as well as creating a brand for herself. If you aren't following Jenna on Instagram yet, now is definitely the perfect time to start!
Tell us a little about yourself and your accomplishments.
I’m Jenna! I’m a content creator, actress, and model living in Los Angeles, California. I’m originally from a small rural town located in the middle of Upstate, New York, (graduated with a total of 70 kids in my class) and moved to New York City to start college and eventually a career in business. I graduated college with a BA in Sociology, minor in Psychology, but it was really hard for me to find a job after graduating due to the slump in the economy. I returned home for about a year, trying to take any job I could while still trying to and figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I felt like a lot of people already knew what they wanted to do with their lives and here I was still scrambling to find myself. I took a bunch of small jobs because it just felt unnatural to not work; I even drove 30 minutes (each way) to work part-time at the only mall we had, at a Victoria’s Secret store making minimum wage (which was not much back then). To my surprise, I would come to find out taking this small job was a blessing for my future career. Fast forward a year later, I was fortunate to land a corporate job as a buyer (at a small candy company near my hometown) and got a phone call from Victoria’s Secret headquarters in NYC to come interview for a job in their corporate office. The kicker? It was for the same role as my current job they didn’t even know I had. It felt meant to be and I was on the next train down to NYC to interview with the entire team. I remember, so clearly, sitting in the train station on the way home and getting the phone call later that day saying I got the job and a formal offer letter was on the way! This was such a pivotal moment in the first few years of my career. This opportunity helped me get a foot in the door and learn so much about the fashion and beauty industry from a business perspective. I truly believe that experience still helps me in my work today as a content creator for beauty and fashion brands. Fast forward to my career now, I’ve been so blessed to work with amazing top tier brands both in the beauty and fashion space. Having my main platform on Instagram really helped me create a name for myself. I was even nominated (and a finalist) for the first-ever CEW 2019 Rising Influencer Award in the makeup category.
Who are your biggest female role models and why (can be someone in your personal life, celebrity, etc.)?
My mother and grandmother. My mom was a single mom, raising 3 kids, and I could never thank her enough for the sacrifices she made. We were really blessed and never went without anything we needed. I know that was a huge sacrifice for her, she really dedicated her whole life to us and her work as a Nurse. My grandmother, although she passed many years ago, was the balance to my mother. She was so strong and resilient, candid yet so kind; my mom says I remind her a lot of my grandmother.
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice what would it be?
I would tell myself to keep my head up and feel good about who you are no matter what anyone tells you. I was made fun of a lot when I was younger for the hairstyle I had (hello perm with bangs!) and my teeth were really crooked and stuck out so far. To top it off I also had glasses, so the combination made me an easy target for jokes and teasing. If I could go back, I would tell my younger self, ‘You are so amazing, and you’re going to do great things. Don’t let this moment in time make you feel bad for who you are or discourage you from wanting anything good for your future.’ I feel like a lot of kids go through similar feelings where they think this moment in time is the end of the world, but I want younger kids to understand that you can get through this and there is a big beautiful world out there with so many opportunities and ways you can find yourself and be happy.
If you are ever in a slump, how do you bring yourself out of it?
This actually happens a lot to me since I’m more introverted. I try my best to disconnect and recharge myself as much as I can. I put my phone away and meditate or read a book. I also find traveling helps put me in a different headspace, even if it’s somewhere local. It’s good to find atmospheres with different energy to recharge and inspire you. Also, having a few close friends who can put things into perspective for you and uplift you are key.
How does social media affect your mental health?
I think for everyone it can be different, but I do believe we are all affected by it somehow. For me, it can really be draining mentally, so I try to limit my use on there as much as possible. Don’t get me wrong, I love social media and find the joy in sharing content as much as I do watching it, but I think it’s easy to start comparing yourself to the highlight reels of so many people you don’t actually know. We need to remember being ourselves is valuable and beautiful.
Given your previous answer, what is one thing that you would change about today's social media in general and why?
I think knowing what goes on behind the scenes (with events, photoshoots, brand trips, things like that) makes it easier for someone in my position to know the reality of social media. There is a lot that goes into making really appealing content for the viewer; like proper lighting, good angles, top of the line cameras and lenses, editing and presets, and so much more. I think at first, people didn’t know much about these things, but with the rapid growth of all these platforms, I think a lot more people are aware now and are really gravitating towards more relatable content. I am really loving the movement of content creators (and celebrities) editing their images way less often or no editing at all. I think transparency is key and it will really help drive the conversation for people to feel better, not only about themselves but about social media and the content they are seeing in general.
Why do you think it’s important for women to support each other and lift each other up in day-to-day interactions and on social media?
I think this is so very important. I can’t even being to explain how much we need this in this day and age of social media. Girls and women alike have confided in me, that they just want a safe space to talk, to feel good about themselves or just want a friend to talk to because they might not have anyone that understands them or loves what they love. I would be lying if I said I don’t receive bad comments or DM’s from time to time. I’ve even received a hateful comment from a girl as young as 10 years old, 10! But when I see something like that, I never respond with hate, I respond with love. I truly believe that if someone is lashing out at you, it’s more of a reflection of how they feel about themselves and less about you. I think no matter the size of your platform, we need to remind people that they are loved, beautiful, and so capable because we (ourselves) can be our worst critic with all these pressures from social media.
What are your short-term and long-term goals for your personal life, career, etc.?
When it comes to content creating and social media, I finally started my YouTube channel last year and am now on TikTok. Being on a few different platforms is time-consuming, but I find it really fun to be able to switch back and forth since they offer different types of media and content. For the long term, I’m going to get back into acting since this is what I first started doing when I moved to Los Angeles. I trained at Groundlings (doing Improv) and I loved the workshops so much! You’ll be seeing me on your TV and movie screens very soon, so watch out!
Name one Nanacoco product that makes you feel more empowered, confident, and beautiful.
It’s so hard to pick one because I love so many, but if I had to choose one, I’d pick the Contouring and Strobing Palette. My current shade is medium and I adore it. You can do so much with it and I love how it makes me feel snatched to the Gods!

This eyeshadow pencil is truly AMAZING. The first shade I tried out was actually In the Night, since I wanted to create an intense smoky eye for Halloween this past year. After using it that one time, I could not wait to try the others. My favorite shades at the moment are Golden Globes, Rose Gold, and Cappuccino. Not only are they extremely creamy and blend effortlessly, but they also work as a versatile product. Whether you're using your's as a highlighter or eyeshadow, you'll be amazed at how great this product is for only $8.
This Black Lash Adhesive, which also comes in clear, features a unique u-tip applicator that allows for precise and easy application, even if it's your first time ever applying false lashes. Also, it's formulated with biotin, is water and sweat-proof, latex-free, and cruelty-free. For only $5.00, you really can't beat it, especially if you wear lashes on the daily.
A great concealer is a must have for every makeup bag, especially one that is hydrating. I don't even want to begin to go into the number of concealers I've tried over the years that just simply didn't cut it. Between drying out my skin, to not providing enough coverage, it really seemed like a never ending battle. Luckily, that battle is over because the HD Cover Concealer gives me full buildable coverage while minimizing the appearance of pores and fine lines. When applying the concealer, I always use the 907 Concealer Brush to ensure a well blended application. You can also use this concealer in a shade or two darker to create a well blended contour, even though I prefer using the Contouring & Strobing Palette.
I actually have never really been a huge fan of blush until about a year or two ago. Since I started incorporating some into my daily makeup routine, I never want to go without it. Whether you are going for a sun kissed summer glow, or wanting to add some color to your "winter complexion", blush will make a noticable difference. The HD Pressed Blush has a silky texture and a buildable formula that blends effortlessly on your cheeks. Feel as good as you look, because this blush doesn't contain parabens, is cruelty-free, gluten-free, and vegan. Did I mention it's only $9 and it lasts for what seems like forever. Since it has such amazing pigment, all I have to do is tap my brush once or twice in it and it gives me plenty of pigment. My top two shades are Shimmery Dusty Rose and Fuchsia. Since these blushes have such great pigment, I also love to use them as an eyeshadow.
I'll have to admit, I am super picky when it comes to lipstick. A lot of lipsticks tend to dry out my lips, which just ends up making my lipstick look absolutely terrible, so I usually opt for balms or glosses. Coming from someone who is not a lipstick lover, the Liptastic Lipstick is phenomenal....especially if you usually tend to steer clear of lipsticks due to drying out your lips. The satin finish keeps your lips moisturized all day, while providing intense pigment. In fact, this lipstick has replaced my every day balm, since it's so silky smooth and moisturizing. With 12 different shades available, there really is a shade for any occasion. Personally, I love layering Pink Champagne and Autumn Breeze to get a perfect nude lip.
If a good gloss is your go-to lip, then for only $9.00 a piece, you'll want to buy all 14 shades of GlitznGloss Lip Gloss. If you are an avid lip gloss wearer like myself, then you definitely know how horrible it is when you are excited to try a new gloss and then you apply it and it feels like you just spread glue all over your lips. These GlitznGlosses drew me in initially because of how stunning the shades are, but once I used them I realized how amazing the non-sticky formula is.
My top three shades (if I absolutely had to choose):
Tea & Biscuits- This is by far is my favorite shade. This is my everyday gloss that I refuse to leave my house without. It's mostly sheer, but provides your lips with a healthy looking light pink tint and a little shimmer.
Pleased- With almost an iridescent look, this shade is my go-to for a girl's night out. It gives my look a beautiful pop of color without going overboard.
Sweet Cinnamon- This shade caught my eye right away, since it has a slight metallic look to it. Sweet Cinnamon is another great every day shade, especially if you're looking to add some pigment to your lips.
I always have to have my nails looking on point, otherwise I feel completely naked. Unfortunately, my salon trips have been on the back burner lately due to a busy work and social schedule. Luckily, the Insta Gel Nail Strips have been lifesavers....and no, I'm not exaggerating one bit. With easy and fool proof application, you can get trendy statement nails in well under 20 minutes. Also, if you're always on the go, you can now do your nails literally anywhere! Although each of the 12 styles are super cute, I always end up sticking (no pun intended) with the Leopard styled stickers.
I hope you enjoyed reading more about my favorite Nanacoco products all under $10 and would love to hear what your's are! Lets us know on Twitter what your favs are by tagging @Nanacocobeauty and using the hashtag #MyNanacocoFavs.
]]>In order to start the process of choosing your perfect foundation shade, you need to figure out your skin tone and undertone. Remember, your foundation shouldn't be clearly noticeable. If it is, then you are definitely using the wrong shade! If you've done your research and are still unsure if you are choosing the right shade or not, check out our Love it in 30 Days Guarantee policy.
Another huge factor playing into how your foundation looks is what formula you are using. We always recommend using a formula that's lightweight and provides buildable to full coverage like the HD Perfection Liquid Foundation.
This formula provides you with a water resistant, velvety smooth finish and is great for all skin types!
Formula Features:
Special Ingredients:
Hexyl Laurate - Skin-softening agent and emollient
Palmitic Acid - Acts as an emollient, which can improve dry and flaky skin as well as conditions like psoriasis and eczema.
Tocopheryl Acetate - A form of vitamin E, an antioxidant, which helps fight free radical damage and promote skin healing to diminish signs of aging. It also provides moisture and strengthens skin’s protective barrier to prevent moisture loss.
Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer - Matte effect that fills in fine lines and leaves the skin with a soft feeling.
If you are more into powder foundations, the HD Perfection Powder Foundation is definitely one you'll want to try. Made in Italy, this formula feels like an expensive and luxurious soft and silky powder. Luckily, for only $28, it won't be breaking the bank.
Formula Features:
This foundation also comes with a super soft puff, so you can easily apply your powder on the go.
Skin prep is often over looked when it comes to your daily makeup routine, but without the proper base your makeup won't apply as smoothly. Make sure to use your tried and true skincare products and primer before applying your makeup and you'll notice a huge difference. If you aren't a morning person and don't want to spend the time to fully prep your face, our Makeup Removing Cleansing Towelettes work great as a simple prep the night before. We love to use one right before bed, so when we wake up our faces are feeling super silky and moisturized.
Good lighting plays such an important role while doing your makeup. If you are doing your makeup in a dimly lit room, your makeup will tend to come out more streaky. The best way to do your makeup is in natural lighting. Try doing your makeup near a window, so you can get as much natural light as possible. If you can't do your makeup in natural lighting, try out a makeup mirror with different light settings.
The tools you use for application will vary depending on the type of foundation you are using and your own personal preference. So what are the different options you have?
Makeup sponge
Makeup sponges are great, but when you use them for foundation you will actually be wasting a lot more product than you realize. The sponge tends to absorb a lot of product. If you decide to go for it and apply your liquid foundation with a sponge, make sure to wet it first and squeeze out any excess moisture. This will allow for a more seamless application.
Brushes
When choosing the right brush, always choose one with synthetic bristles versus real animal hair.
Our go-to brush for liquid formulas is the 904 Liquid Foundation Brush. Even if it's your first time ever applying liquid foundation, this brush makes for an extremely easy and streak-free application!
If you are using a Powder Foundation, we find that the 912 Kabuki Brush gives us the best results for that smooth and flawless finish that we are all searching for.
Both of these brushes are cruelty-free and made out of 100% synthetic fibers. They are also insanely soft and feature gorgeous rose gold handles.
Your fingers
Some people love using their fingers to apply makeup since it's more convenient and then you don't need a million different brushes. As far as applying foundation goes, we would opt out of using our fingers to do so. Using your fingers to apply any type of liquid foundation will increase the risk of unevenness and streaks. Also, your fingers hold natural oils so it can result in a higher chance for breakouts.
When dealing with foundation, less is more! You should only be applying foundation where it's necessary in thin layers. Doing so, will help you to not overdo it resulting in that heavy caked up look. If you're using liquid foundation, remember to always squirt it onto the back of your hand versus directly onto your brush or face, to help ensure you aren't applying it too heavily.
]]>We all love a great lip balm, especially once the cold weather hits. Since your lips are constantly exposed to the cold weather, they will become very dry and may even crack if you don't take proper care of them. Try opting for a balm that contains moisturizing ingredients like shea butter and vitamin E. If you are rocking your favorite lipsticks still, make sure to use one with a creamy formula or use a moisturizing gloss. Stay away from lip plumping glosses, as they will irritate your lips making them even drier than before!
The best way to combat dry skin, is to use a good oil-based moisturizer right after you get out of the shower and before you go to bed. An oil-based moisturizer will work much better than a water-based one, since it will help your skin to retain more moisture. If you aren't a huge fan of using moisturizer on your face, opt for a super moisturizing makeup remover like our Nanacoco Professional Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes.
Not only do these wipes leave you with a fresh makeup free face, but they'll also leave your face moisturized and glowing! We love using one before our shower to take off all of our makeup from the day, as well as right before bed. When we wake up in the morning, we then give our face a little massage to work in any of the excess product. This always makes for such a smooth makeup application in the morning! These wipes are also alcohol-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, phthalate-free, vegan, and cruelty-free.
Even though you may love nothing more than taking a long steam shower on a cold winter night, we suggest that you hurry it up and turn down the temperature a bit. Taking a long steaming hot shower will actually strip your skin of it's natural oils and cause it to dry out even more. It's best to take 10 minute, lukewarm showers instead.
Humidifiers aren't only used to help get rid of a stuffy nose or a nasty cold. They are also great to help combat dry skin! It's best to hook up your humidifier in your bedroom while you sleep to add some extra moisture to the air. If you really want to go the extra mile, bring a mini humidifier into work with you to place on your desk.
